‘Rushlake Green Open’ art show
Work is already well advanced for the hugely popular and well-supported Open Art Show on the Friday and Saturday. The guidelines for every wishing to enter artworks for the exhibition are now available on the website here. The deadline for letting the curator know that you’d like your art to be part of the show is 28th August. Anyone, of whatever level of artistic experience is welcome to take part. Big Little Gig – music night
There’ll be an Open Mic music evening on the Saturday night. If you’d like to take part in an evening that promises to be an eclectic mix of genres and musical talents please get in touch via the email: littleartsrushlakegreen@gmail.com with “OPEN MIC MUSIC NIGHT” in the subject. Give us your contact details and an indication of your musical style. The plan is to provide a basic backline/PA, mixing desk and possibly a house drum kit, for quick change-overs.
Poetry
The team that put together last year’s incredibly impressive and well received poetry session are already working on something similar for this year’s weekend event.
In the morning there will be a Poetry Workshop run by local poet and writer Charlie Bell. Places will be limited, so it is advisable to book early.
In the afternoon, there will be an ‘Open’ poetry reading circle where everyone is encouraged to read one or two pieces of their own work. As previously, this will be a very supportive setting in which writers of all levels of experience are warmly encouraged to join in.
