This year’s Open Art Show on the green promises to be another brilliant showcase of local artistic talents. The exhibition is open to everyone – whatever their level of artistic experience. So its a great way to encourage those just their artistic journey and also a superb opportunity to see some examples of the hugely talented, more experienced artists in our community. Every year this open exhibition showcases an wonderfully diverse range of imaginative and inspiring art works. This often includes works not just in mediums such oils, watercolours, acrylics, charcoal and much more – but also 3D works in glass, metal, wood, fabric, ceramics and even installations. This year the exhibition is also inviting screen based entries including animation, video, film and games.
The exhibition starts with a Preview Night, on Friday 4th September in the Dunn Village Hall, from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. It’s free for everyone to attend and there’ll be a pay bar with plenty of bubbly and other drinks on offer. Then the exhibition re-opens from 9.00am to 1.00pm on Saturday the 5th Sept. Many of the works will be for sale so it’s a great place to pick up a unique artistic gem.
This years there’s a special treat for parents with young kids. There will be a storytelling session on Saturday morning, in the smaller room of the Dunn Village Hall (fully chaperoned) to keep youngsters entertained while parents or guardians enjoy the art exhibition – and maybe even a glass or two of something refreshing.
